Gwyn studied Illustration at Manchester Polytechnic and after graduation enjoyed a successful and fulfilling career as a book cover artist, painting covers for authors such as D.H. Lawrence and Agatha Christie.
After which she began to spend more time perusing her passion as a figurative painter. She is often inspired by the theme of rehearsals and has completed a range of paintings, from school Nativity plays to students of the Northern Ballet School.
She currently lives in Manchester and is the co-founder of the very successful Troubadour Gallery which opened in 2004.
